Paper C01, Fundamentals of Management Accounting, introduces the knowledge and skills needed in the application of management accounting. Students will need to have knowledge of management accounting techniques and have an understanding of when and when not to use them. C01 is examined via a computer-based assessment containing 50 objective test questions.

C02 - Fundamentals of Financial Accounting

Paper C02 concentrates on building a basic understanding of financial accounting. The objective is to give students a good grounding in double entry bookkeeping. Students will also learn the preparation of basic financial statements for sole traders, companies, non-profit making organisations and manufacturing accounts; an introduction to internal and external audit; and interpretation of accounts (cash flow statements and ratios).

C03 - Fundamentals of Business Mathematics

C03 is a foundation level study of mathematical and statistical concepts and techniques. The first part of the syllabus covers basic techniques, formulae and equations which are fundamental skills. Spreadsheet skills are also essential to the work of the Management Accountant and are tested throughout the syllabus. The next part of the syllabus is summarising and analysing data which links to the probability and distributions section. Finally, the syllabus covers the mathematical techniques needed for forecasting and planning, again an essential part of the work of the Management Accountant.

C04 - Fundamentals of Business Economics

Paper C04 'Fundamentals of Business Economics' introduces the basic economic and financial concepts which management accountants need to know for their roles. It looks at the way individual organisations decide how to allocate resources (microeconomics) as well as looking at overall economic activity and economic policies (macroeconomics). Organisations and economies both need finance, and the syllabus reflects this by looking at the role of financial institutions and markets in providing finance.

C05 - Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
